Welcome to Holly Class - our mixed Year 1 and 2 class

🌿 Welcome to Holly Class!

We are a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class, and we are looking forward to a busy and exciting year of learning together. In Holly Class, we work hard, show kindness, and support each other as we grow.

👩‍🏫 Our Team

• Class Teacher: Miss Bailey

• Teaching Assistants: Mrs Knott, Mrs White and Mrs Whitmore

🏃‍♀️ PE Days

PE takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

• Children should come to school in their PE kit on these days.

• Girls’ hair must be tied up for PE.

• Earrings should not be worn.

📖 Our Learning This Term

In English, we are currently reading Frog and the Stranger. The children will be using this text as inspiration to plan and write their own narrative.

📚 Reading

• Reading books and diaries must be brought into school every day.

• Children are expected to read at least three times a week at home.

• Please record each read in your child’s reading diary so we can celebrate their progress.

📝 Homework

• Homework is sent home on Friday.

• It will include a short maths task based on current learning and a writing activity.

• Completed homework should be returned by the following Wednesday.

💡 Reminders

• Please make sure all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled.

• Children should bring a water bottle to school every day.

We are very excited about the year ahead in Holly Class and can’t wait to share all of the wonderful learning and achievements with you.
