Oxford Owl's website is a very useful website for parents to use at home as it has lots of advice on reading and writing linked to our phonics scheme, Read Write Inc.

There are free ebooks as well as videos to watch to guide parents and their children with pronunciation of sounds as well as blending skills.  Simply set up a free account on their website and explore all the activities and resources they have to offer.

Summer Reading Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge takes place every year during the school summer holidays.  You can sign up at your local library, then read six library books of your choice to complete the challenge.  There are rewards to collect along the way and it's free to take part.

In Central Bedfordshire, the challenge begins on 6th July and there are a range of activities available across libraries.  This year's theme is Marvellous Makers and you can find out more by visiting the Summer Reading Challenge website.
